The Advocacy committee makes sure Galway families are heard where it matters most. From winning 12 new radios for school safety to pushing for HVAC improvements and equity in classrooms, advocacy gets results. The committee connects with elected officials, organizes letter-writing campaigns, and prepares parents to testify at budget hearings. We are currently seeking a Co-Chair to help lead this important work — if you want to make a lasting impact for our children, this is the place to plug in.
The Events committee focuses on creating moments that bring our school family together — from Moms & Muffins and Dads & Donuts to teacher appreciation events, multicultural celebrations, and student recognition days. These gatherings help families connect, celebrate our amazing staff, and make every child feel seen and supported. If you love planning, hosting, or spreading joy, this is the place for you! Your creativity and energy help make Galway a stronger, more connected community.
The Fundraising Committee ensures we can fund the programs our kids deserve — from literacy and reading initiatives to new equipment and classroom enhancements. This year, we’re adding community fundraisers like Chipotle Night, and we’re also seeking grant writers to help us unlock larger opportunities. Joining this team means helping turn big dreams into real improvements for our students and staff. Every dollar raised strengthens Galway’s foundation and helps our children thrive.
The Hispanic Outreach Committee celebrates our diverse families and ensures every parent has a voice. This group works to build inclusion, host culturally relevant events, and strengthen connections between Hispanic families and the broader school community. If you’re passionate about representation and creating a welcoming environment, join us!
The Educational Excellence committee is focused on improving academic achievement of Galway students by partnering closely with the Administration, Teachers and Staff at Galway to promote existing academic growth opportunities, implement new academic related programs and find opportunities to celebrate academic achievements. Together, we will introduce programs that reward academic excellence, after school tutoring, enrichment programs, test taking workshops and raise funds for equipment to strengthen education.
Call for Grant Writers!
The PTA will begin applying for grants to bring in additional resources that support literacy, technology, and enrichment programs for all students. To do this, we need parents with writing, research, or project management skills to join our Grant Writing Team. Whether you’ve written grants before or just want to help, we’ll guide you through the process. Room Parents Needed
The Room Parent provides logistical and volunteer support to the classroom teacher. The teacher remains the primary and only communicator with families regarding classroom matters. Room Parents help coordinate events, supplies, and volunteer needs under the teacher’s direction and in alignment with school and PTA guidelines.
